Hondros College of Nursing Moves to New Campus in Columbus

COLUMBUS, OH. – Hondros College of Nursing (HCN) announced the move of its Columbus-area campus to a new location at 1105 Schrock Road in Columbus. The campus, previously located in Westerville, will continue to enroll students in its Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) and Practical Nursing (PN) Diploma programs to help address the current nursing shortage across Ohio and the United States.  The campus will also offer the newly introduced Medical Assisting program.

“We are excited to move our Columbus campus to a location that is much more convenient for our students, right off right off 1-71 and 161 in the Busch Corporate Center,” said Harry Wilkins, Chief Executive Officer at Hondros College of Nursing.  “Hondros is proud to expand our ability in the Columbus area to educate new nurses who can serve in important roles in our community's healthcare systems.”

Both the state of Ohio and the nation are facing a nursing shortage that is expected to continue for at least the next eight years. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that there will be over 175,000 registered nursing (RN) job openings each year through 2029. Furthermore, almost 59,000 openings are projected annually for licensed practical nurses, on average, until 2031, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

In addition, Medical Assisting is also considered a high growth career, with employment for medical assistants projected to grow 14 percent between 2022 and 2032, with 105,000 new positions created overall, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).
