I decided to pursue nursing as a career because it has always been in my nature to take care of people. From a young age, I was always the “mother hen” of taking care of my family, this was something I just loved to do. I love seeing people make progress and growth, all while knowing I helped to contribute to their journey.
I decided to attend Hondros College of Nursing because they had a bridge program that I was looking for. This allowed me to take my existing skills and work towards the next step in my career, plus it was close to home.
The behaviors I had to exhibit to reach my goals included mental resilience, focus, and optimism. This helped me to discover different ways I can help people. Some people need a different approach when it comes to medicine or patient care, it is important to always respect this. To those who are thinking about starting nursing school, make sure that you are doing this for the right reasons.
