HCN Success Stories

My mother was an STNA. When I was growing up I would volunteer at the nursing home where she worked during summer breaks from school. I saw how the nurses, my mother, and her colleagues took care of the residents like they were members of their own family. I think that is where I first caught the nursing "bug." I eventually went to school for medical assisting and have been a registered medical assistant since August 2012. I have loved working in healthcare and have worked with and learned a lot from some amazing healthcare professionals. I knew I wanted to further my career and become a nurse. The feeling that you get when you help make a difference in your patient's life is very rewarding.

I chose Hondros College of Nursing because of several things. I had looked at other programs in my area and even toured some of the campuses. But when it came down to it, my gut would tell me that I should keep looking. I am glad I listened. Hondros had the program schedule that I needed. I work full time during the day and attend classes in the evenings.

To those considering a career in healthcare, do not be afraid to take that chance. I had put my nursing career off for several years, but I finally took the leap. There is a demand for nurses in this country. We are needed. Take that leap!
